Clergate Public School, orginally know as Mulyan School, was opened in 1879 at a site 4km north-west of its present site. In 1958 the school was moved to its present site at Clergate, which is approximately 12km north of Orange. The school is located in a rural area and is the only service provider of any kind in the small rural community. The community's interest and pride in the school is reflected in the excellent reputation the school has and the support that is always forthcoming for any school community event. The school is located in park-like grounds and has excellent playing areas and equipment. Parents and community members have continued to provide strong support in maintaining our school as an attractive learning environment. The school provides educational opportunities for students from the local area and from Orange. Our school's motto is "Our Best Always - Living, Working, Learning and Growing" and this principle guides the aims of every day school endeavours as we aim to provide an interesting, balanced, challenging and rewarding education.
